Elizabeth Halford Registered OsteopathI am passionate about osteopathy and what it can do for you , to improve your health and well being. It is this belief in osteopathy that has driven my osteopathic practice.
After graduation from the College of Osteopaths in 1993 I grew a successful general osteopathic clinic in Hertford within a GP’s practice, receiving NHS referrals from GPs. Also from 1993 I worked as a volunteer paediatric osteopath at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in Harley St. From the inspiration of how osteopathy can assist babies ,mother and children I developed a specialist osteopathy for pregnancy clinic at The Active Birth Centre in London which I nurtured up to 2005 when I gave up the Wales London commute to focus on osteopathy in Wales and to start my own family; twin girls who arrived in 2006. From 2008 to 2015 I completed the Sutherland Cranial College pathway (link to www.sutherlandcranialcollege.co.uk) post graduate pathway and was awarded Fellow of Sutherland Cranial College, FOSCC. I provide osteopathic treatment for a wide range of conditions including back pain , sciatica , neck pain, headaches , treatment to prevent migraine, pain and stiffness from osteoarthritis ,hip, knee, ankle, wrist elbow and shoulder problems. Also repetitive strain injury due to sports injuries, horse riding and performance arts e.g. musicianship, dance or acrobatics. During pregnancy osteopathy may safely treat back, pelvic and pubic pain, (P.S.D.), heart burn and rib pain. Babies suffering from excessive crying and breastfeeding and feeding difficulties benefit from the very safe and gentle cranial osteopathy. Read more on Babies and Children page. As well as relieving symptoms osteopathic treatment helps your body function better. After treatment patients often report an improvement in general well being, energy levels and sleep patterns. Osteopaths are statutory registered professionals and under the BMA and NICE guidelines your GP can refer you to an osteopath for back pain or any other muskloskeletal condition. See NICE guidelines.
